As a registered educational charity, Sonairte relies on the support of those who love nature, the environment and care about what Sonairte is trying to achieve. Sonairte is not state funded. We are very grateful for the continued support of environmentally responsible individuals and businesses to enable us to carry out our work and for Sonairte’s continued development.

You can also help by making a tax efficient donation. Sonairte is an approved body for the purposes of section 848A, Taxes Consolidation Act, which relates to tax relief for donations to approved bodies. This means that you can decide how your taxes are spent by making a donation to Sonairte.
Here is an example. Suppose you are a PAYE payer and would like to give €1000 to Sonairte. You give us €590 and we ask you to fill in a form CHY2. We can then claim the €410 you have already given the Revenue Commissioners on that money back from them.
If you are self-employed the system is a little different. In that case you have to give us the whole €1000 but you can claim back the €410 you paid in tax in your annual return. Remember that although most of your income is PAYE the Revenue Commissioners may regard you as self-employed for the purposes of this scheme if you top up your main employment with extra earnings.
You can download the forms from the Revenue Commissioners website, or from the link below, and Sonairte would be happy help you with them.
