Sonairte is an interactive visitor centre promoting ecological awareness and sustainable living. We have been serving and growing with the local community for over 26 years.
Sonairte is a great place for a day out for all the family – strolling the Walled Organic Garden, exploring the Nature Trail, or having a picnic. Visit our Information Centre, follow our Heritage Trail or call into our Bee Museum.
You can also enjoy a light snack or a full meal in the Sunflower Café, or choose from a delicious selection of homemade cakes, breads, scones teas and coffees. Delicious soups are made daily from the freshest ingredients. Special diets can be catered for as everything is made fresh to order.
Last, but not least, make yourself at home in the Eco Shop where you’ll find a wide selection of all the big names in Irish eco cleaning products and green beauty items, as well as gourmet and health foodstuffs, seeds, feeds and tools for gardening fans, and many handmade and Fairtrade gifts.
We look forward to welcoming you in person.
Tours or courses for your group are available any day or time by arrangement.
We are open in the evening for special events and courses.
Courses will be listed on our Education page from time to time.
Food & Craft Markets take place on selected Sundays, please see our Facebook page for dates. Our next market is on Sunday 30th August from 11am to 4pm, featuring a range of high quality handmade, artisan, upcycled and unusual items, including Sonairte’s own produce from the garden and homemade cakes and breads.
