Eco Tourism

Sonairte is one of many reasons for visiting the Laytown area. There are four beaches in the vicinity and two formal gardens Glebelands and Glebewood Gardens and Hamwood Gardens. There are also open farms and a host of historical and archaeological sites of national and international signficance. Visit www.goireland.com or http://www.meath.ie/tourism/ for more information.

For your green day out at Sonairte, you can enjoy a course in organic gardening or sustainable living, eat “plot to pot” food at the Mustard Seed Cafe or bring a picnic to eat in the garden or on the banks of the Nanny River. Listen to the birdsong on the Rath and marvel at the biodiversity of woodland, meadow and marshes contained within our 10 acre site.

All ages can come and enjoy a green day out at Sonairte. We’re an important resource for Active Retirement Groups who can come and avail of our organic gardening and arts courses.

Fun for all the family

Sonairte also welcomes community and allotment groups who wish to see and learn about organic gardening in action. Please see the courses section of our website for further information. Or alternatively, call Sonairte and we will make arrangements for your visit to the centre.
